Wow, everything is different!
We changed (a lot).
First, we are releasing into beta our new automated screenshot service! Secondly, we have a new look (with a shiny new logo!).
The whole site is now being driven by Drupal. We did that so we would be able to add content quickly and easily. We also added forums. We want the forums to be become useful for the community of web developers that use our site. We hope that the forums will become a place where web developers can talk either about their work or problems they are having doing cross browser testing.
What happened to free? We made a mistake. We thought more people would pay. Of our 17,637 users, 708 have either purchased some credits or subscribed to our service. If we had huge traffic we would be rich but we do not have huge traffic. We need to convert the non payers to payers to be able to continue to invest in the business. Read more
Subscriptions have really helped and the subscription model is just plain easier to understand. For that reason (among others), we have decided to go subscription only.
We think the product has reached a point where it is worth paying for. We have enough subscriptions to almost be 'ramen' profitable (assuming we do not eat too much). We take that to mean we have a core audience that feels the service is useful.
With our new setup we have swiched to Vmware ESXi. It gives us the ability to quickly add more servers. We also get increased performance. We have tripled the number of servers, and the servers are much, much beefier.
We hope that based on our current platform we will be able to add automated Selenium testing and an API that will allow you even more flexibility. Read more about our future plans. We feel like we are only getting started, we thank the people who have supported us!

Thanks (and sorry if we missed your note),

Keep up the good work Ken. It's really awesome!
New site is great!
Woah...
Love the new site! Nicely done!
Marty
Hi Marty, Thanks for the kind
Hi Marty,
Thanks for the kind words. We spent a lot of time adding new features to the service and we thought we might as well spruce up the site at the same time. =)
Mike
nice upgrade
I like the new look and features. Even the old features are easier to use and find with this new layout. Well done. Who designed your new logo?
P.S.
I think the 'save' button is kind of confusing when posting a comment
nice upgrade - thanks!
Hi David,
Thanks - glad you are finding it easier to navigate. We still have some work to do, so we would appreciate any and all ideas.
On the logo - it was designed by yudhiecavalera. We did a blog post about his work ( http://crossbrowsertesting.com/blog/and-winner ) - you can see his other work at http://yudhiecavalera.deviantart.com/ and http://99designs.com/people/yudhiecavalera. He was a pleasure to work with.
Thanks,
Ken

Hello,
All of our web products have cookie authentication, will your product support this?
Cookie Authentication
Our live testing absolutely does - you can test the functionality and layout of all your sites with it, logging in via the browser as you normally do. The new screenshot module does not at this point, but will in the next few months when we enable it to use Selenium scripts to drive the screenshot session. This will allow you to record a path through your site via the Selenium recorder, then play those actions back across a wide range of our browser / OS combinations. Part of the recording can be an actual user login to your site. You can set it to take screenshots as it moves through the pages. We are really excited about this capability and have already run some scripts against the platform (the underpinnings are already in place for this functionality). We will be taking a couple of weeks to clean up issues around the latest release, then start working on the Selenium functionality.
Great question!
