Tell me about minutes and how they are used

Each package allows a different amount of usage time per month. The usage time is calculated as the processing time of our Linux server for each test, whether it is a live test session or a series of automated screenshots.

Live testing - Verify the operation and functionality of your site
Live test sessions are measured to the second. If you use a configuration for 3:32 minutes - that is charged against your alloted time for the month.

Screenshots - Verify the visual layout of your site across browsers
A screenshot is accounted in terms of seconds. You are only charged time when the screenshot is being taken, not for the start up and tear down time for an OS (we launch fresh configs for every test to ensure your company's privacy). Typically, each screenshot takes from 0:30 to 1:30 minutes to complete, depending on the length of the page, the browser selected, and the OS selected. If a screenshot fails to process, there is no charge.

Choose the package that fits your needs. At any time, you can upgrade to a bigger package (you will receive a prorated credit for the previous package) or drop down to a smaller package (will take effect at the next subscription period). As your needs change, change your package

Minutes

What happens when we run out of minutes for the month?

Hi, When you run out of

Hi,
When you run out of minutes, you will not be able to run any tests until you either refill your minutes or upgrade your account to the next higher plan. Both of these options would be available from the pricing page.

I hope this answers your question. If you have any others, please let me know.

Regards,
Mike

Pricing functionality tests

When I open a browser to start testing links, etc. when does the clock stop? I'm afraid it's not clear to me from your description. For instance, if I was midtest on a multi-step process and received a phone call, or got called out to a meeting, am I charged until such time as I close the window (meaning I have to close down part way through)? Or are you only charging for the time when there is client server interaction (e.g., I'm clicking a button, it's sending instructions, website responds and sends back my new display.)

Would help to know.

Tasha

P.S. I think you have a really cool service here!

Hi Tasha, On the live tests,

Hi Tasha,
On the live tests, you are charged for the time you have a remote browser session up and running. If you walk away without ending your session, the system will automatically end your current session after it detects 5 minutes of inactivity - ie no mouse or keyboard activity. You can adjust this time from 5 to 15 minutes under the advanced settings link.
Thanks
Ken

Do minutes roll over?

If I pay for 150 minutes per month and only use 50 minutes, do the remainder roll over to the next month? If I am primarily doing development work one month and then the next month doing testing it seems as if it would be in my best interest to be constantly deactivating and reactivating my account if they don't carry over.

Great question. We are

Great question. We are currently looking at either some type of rollover arrangement or 'loyality time' for users that stay subscribed for multiple months. Stay tuned for this...

Pricing - screnshots

hi just a quick question. If u run a screenshot session which used 5 configurations, am I charged for one screenshot or for five (say 5 x one minute)?

regards

John

Hi John, You are charged for

Hi John,
You are charged for each configuration you run. In your example, if each screenshot took around a minute, 5 minutes would be applied against your monthly max usage.
Thanks
