Live Testing not working
Mon, 11/02/2009 - 07:21
The live testing does not work on my machine. I verified that I have java (Java 6 Update 16) installed and working. When I try to access live testing I receive an error the Java VCN could not connect to server. Suggestions?

Hi,
I checked the logs from the sessions you ran. We recorded the following from the sessions:
2009-11-02 07:16:00 Network error: could not connect to server: crossbrowsertesting.com:6033
2009-11-02 07:16:02 Network error: could not connect to server: crossbrowsertesting.com:6033
2009-11-02 07:16:04 Network error: could not connect to server: crossbrowsertesting.com:6033
2009-11-02 07:16:05 Network error: could not connect to server: crossbrowsertesting.com:6033

From these error messages, it appears that you have a firewall blocking connectivity to the service. CrossBrowserTesting.com uses VNC to present the remote browsers to test on. This requires your browser to be able to initiate a VNC connection on ports 6020-6040 to www.crossbrowsertesting.com. You may need to speak to your network administrator or your ISP to ask them to enable this access.
A good way to verify this if you are using a laptop is to try accessing the service from home or another network location. If it works when you move to a network away from work, then your company must be blocking the VNC traffic.
If your network administrator needs to talk to us, have him either use our 'Contact Us' form or call us at 1-888-XBROWSER / 1-888-927-6973.
Sorry for the trouble,
Ken
